Bahia de Banderas
I'm transitioning to a new computer right now and didn't have time to post anything new. This is a shot from a whale watching boat in Banderas Bay off the coast of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico from a trip in January 2008.

Tea
Mmm, there's nothing like a hot cup of Irish breakfast tea in the morning.
I took this shot with my new 50mm f1.8, Nikon's least expensive lens. This lens made it to the top spot on Ken Rockwell's list of the 10 best Nikon lenses. I really like it so far, even though it won't autofocus on my D40.

Mystery #1
Ok, this is my first mystery photo. This is not an original idea. Rick Lee is the first I know of to do mystery photos, and he's quite good. And Josh from Josh in Real Life suggested that I try my hand.
Try to guess what this is, and post your guesses in the comments. I'll post the answer a week from today on Monday, July 21.

Tea Set - Black and White
I thought I'd see how my tea set shot looks in black and white. I used the GIMP's desaturate feature based on luminosity. Which do you think is better: the color version, or this black and white version?

Dead Vines
This is another older shot taken with the Pentax K1000 35mm and scratched 50mm lens, the same camera used for this shot.

Nighttime in the Suburbs
I took this hand-held using a wall as support. This is the image after a crop and some levels adjustments in GIMP. Is it still too dark?

Texas Capital
This shot was taken in 2005 during a trip to Austin, Texas. I think the capital building with the United States and Texas flags makes a good post for the 4th of July.

Blue Tiles
I found this sign on a building in Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth. It reads:
